You could be depressed. Other signs of depression include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Feeling empty<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 you don\u2019t get any pleasure from life, even from things you used to enjoy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disturbed sleep patterns<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 waking very early and being kept awake by your thoughts, or not having the motivation to get out of bed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Appetite<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 either you\u2019ve lost your appetite, or eating excessively with no enjoyment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Self Image<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 feeling useless and helpless; thinking that you\u2019re a burden to people close to you;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Self Attack<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 suicidal thoughts, self-harming, or saying negative things to yourself;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you think you have depression, you have a better chance of recovery if you seek treatment.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220814132234\/https:\/\/www.londoncitypsychotherapy.co.uk\/#contact\">Make an appointment<\/a>&nbsp;to see me in my central London consulting room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is depression?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are not alone. About 2 in 3 adults have depression at some time in their life. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men will have an episode of depression serious enough to require treatment at some point in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depression can be brought on by a specific event \u2013 the end of a relationship; a death; or a period of stress. However, depression can also set-in when everything else in your life seems fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people are more susceptible to depression than others. The explanation for this probably lies in previous life experiences or family background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best treatment depends on your particular case.
